Physical Therapy for Osteoporosis:
Osteoporosis is a medical condition that causes weak bones and is associated with an increased risk of fracture. Women experience a rapid decline in bone mass after menopause and are women are more likely to get osteoporosis than men.
Physical therapy for osteoporosis can help build strength and improve posture and balance. We offer physical therapy programs for Osteoporosis at our outpatient clinics at Briggs Health Pavilion, Naples Downtown, and on Marco Island. Our physical therapists have taken advanced course work and specialize in treating individuals with this condition.
The Osteoporosis physical therapy program focuses on spinal alignment and posture, flexibility, mobility, and balance. Your treatment plan may include both land and aquatic exercises dependent on your individual needs.
Patient education is provided during therapy along with an appropriate home management program customized to your individual needs. Our goal is to keep you active and healthy throughout your lifetime.
