Robert Hanson, MD
Robert Hanson, MD has practiced as a Family Medicine Physician in Naples, Florida since 1992. He received his medical degree from the University of Florida in 1989. He completed his Family Practice residency training at the Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1992. He served as chief resident during his last year of residency. He was a founding member of Anchor Health Centers in 1997 and instrumental in its acquisition by the NCH Healthcare System in 2010. He has served as the Chairman of the Board for the NCH Physician Group since its inception in 2010.
Dr. Hanson has provided care for patients of all ages from infants to the geriatric patients since he started in practice. He strongly believes in preventative medicine making this a focal point of his medical practice. He is a good communicator who offers kind and compassionate care to his patients. His years of experience provide him with a keen diagnostic acumen. He enjoys the process of identifying health problems and directing treatment plans that are unique to each patient.
Dr. Hanson grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida the son of a primary care physician in that community for many years. He is married and has 4 children ages 22 to 27. No grandchildren yet! He has a Christian faith that impacts his life, family, and his work. He enjoys travel, fishing, golf, and riding his bike in his free time.
Jesse Haven, MD
Dr. Haven is an experienced, board certified, family physician who has worked in Naples for 13 years, first with Anchor Health Centers and presently with NCH Healthcare Group. He graduated from Duke University, cum laude, attended Thomas Jefferson Medical College, cum laude, and completed his medical residency at Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg, FL, having served as chief resident.
Dr. Haven is transforming his practice from a large practice in family medicine to a much smaller, personalized and patient-focused family practice. He enjoys spending more time with patients so they have the sense that they are receiving the level of care they would receive if they had a doctor in their immediate family. Dr. Haven closely monitors all medical services for his patients, working together to develop a nutrition and exercise program, using cutting edge resources and state of the art technology.
In addition, Dr. Haven has enjoyed volunteering at the Neighborhood Health Clinic in Naples since 2001.
Dr. Haven is fluent in Spanish, and he enjoys traveling to foreign countries. He has studied in Spain and Ecuador. Dr. Haven enjoys marathons, half-marathons, adventure races, cycling and triathlons. He loves spending time with his wife, Monika, sons, Jake and Reese, and dog, Baxter.
Julie Southmayd, MD
Dr Julie Southmayd did her undergraduate work at Mount Holyoke College in biology earning her BA Magna Cum Laude. She is also a graduate of the Dartmouth-Brown Program in Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA. She was a staff physician for six years for Harvard University and clinical professor of medicine before leaving for private practice in Wellesley, MA. She has been a physician in Naples for the last twelve years and has earned the honor of Top Doctor by Castle Connolly for the last six years as well as Naples Daily News People's Choice Award for best doctor for two years.
Dr. Southmayd has a strong interest in integrative, holistic and functional medicine as well as a strong background in traditional internal medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine as well as the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is well versed in the latest technologies for diagnosing and treating hormone imbalances, food sensitivities, gastrointestinal issues and cardiovascular disease. She enjoys using the best of both traditional and integrative medicine to treat all her patients. Her goal is a personalized treatment plan where the patient plays an active role in making the necessary changes in diet, lifestyle and environment to achieve optimal health and wellness.
Dr. Southmayd is originally from the Boston area and did all her schooling and training in New England. She is married with two daughters and relocated to the Naples area in 2002 to enjoy the beautiful and unhurried lifestyle that this area offers. Her older daughter Susanna is pursuing a career in musical theatre in New York City and her younger daughter Caroline is a senior at Yale College. Her husband Peter is a retired Inc 500 CEO who has had a fine wine business in Naples for many years. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising and practicing yoga when not caring for her patients.
