Stress Test

Welcome to the Shick Heart Center

Stress Test   This test is used to determine how the heart responds to exertion. The physical exertion involves walking on a treadmill while gradually increasing the level of difficulty. The heart rate and blood pressure responses are monitored during this procedure. The purpose of these tests is to detect coronary heart disease and to helpdecide if further evaluation is necessary. Preparation is minimal. The physician may ask you to go without eating two hours prior to the test. Wear comfortable walking shoes and comfortable clothes.
