Cardiac Rehab is a medically supervised program designed to help heart patients recover quickly and educate them on ways to prevent secondary events from occurring. It is available for patients who have had a heart attack in the past year, patients who have had bypass surgery, and patients with a history of Angina. It is a telemetry monitored, progressive exercise program designed to increase cardiovascular fitness.
The Phase II program is 3 days per week for up to 12 weeks. A training program includes:

Specially trained cardiac nurses and exercise specialists are among the staff members who work with each patient individually. Therefore, each patient receives on-going education regarding risk factors, diet instruction, stress management and behavior modification.

With the completion of your Phase II Cardiac Rehab program you will be encouraged to continue your healthy lifestyle by joining the Wellness Center.
The
Wellness Center, at the NCH Healthcare System, provides an on-going plan in which patients may exercise indefinitely. At the Wellness Center , programs are designed to provide continued support and supervision to the patient and family while allowing the patient the opportunity of a personalized exercise program.
