Visual Arts
Art activities are designed to help you relax, socialize, find solace and express yourself.  Paints and other art supplies are brought to your room by volunteer artists.  These volunteers are here to help you explore the therapeutic benefits of creativity.  Art supplies as well as a therapeutic and fun self guiding Art in Healing book are available by request.

 

Music Therapy
Music has shown the ability to reduce the anxiety and pain that often accompanies a health crisis.  The music of Arts in Healing volunteers perform in the lobby of downtown Naples campus.  Special sessions can be requested through the 2882 extension by leaving your name and room number.

Pet Therapy
Make friends with one of our volunteer Pet Partner dogs.
Benefits of visiting with a therapy dog has shown to often decrease blood pressure, relieve loneliness and depression and be just plain fun.  Call 2882 tell us your name and room number and we will visit you on our next rounds.

 

Laughter Therapy
Let our Clown on Rounds bring you a few smiles and their prescriptions for good feelings.
Ask for a visit from Clowns on Rounds.
Why laugh?  There is an old saying:  “Laughter is a good medicine.”  Research has shown that laughing can alter levels of neuro-chemicals, boost the immune system, reduce muscle tension and improve respiration.

 

NCH recognizes the value of addressing the whole person during a health crisis.  We developed the free Arts in Healing program to support their spiritual and mental well-being while receiving medical treatment.We invite you, your family, physician or healthcare provider to ask for an NCH Arts in Healing session.

The NCH Healthcare System is a not-for-profit, multi-facility healthcare system located in Naples, Florida, United States. The System is more than just two hospitals (referred to as the NCH Downtown Naples Hospital, and NCH North Naples Hospital) with a total of 715 beds. The NCH Healthcare System is an alliance of 650 physicians and medical facilities in dozens of locations throughout Collier County and southwest Florida. The services offered by the NCH Healthcare System are extensive. Inpatient services include: medical, surgical, cardiac, orthopedic, obstetric, pediatric, rehabilitative, psychiatric, oncology, emergency treatment, and diagnostics. Outpatient services include: rehabilitation, home care, walk-in centers, wound healing, and more. This year the system had 37,284 admissions, 87,100 emergency room visits, 3,033 births, 416 open heart surgeries, 11,282 surgical procedures, and 3,000 employee colleagues. NCH is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
