Cardiac Catheterization

More than 4,000 cardiac catheterization procedures and 1,000 angioplasty procedures annually. Staff members consist of registered nurses (RN), registered invasive cardiac specialists (RCIS), and support staff. We currently work with physician specialists, including invasive and interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, and critical care physicians.

The Code-Save-A-Heart team is available 24/7 to treat patients who are having an acute heart attack. We dare a nationally recognized as a top performer in this specialty. The goal during a Code-Save-A-Heart procedure is to open the blockage, restore the blood flow and minimize permanent damage to the heart muscle. We are currently averaging a 68-minute door to balloon time and treat over 150 patients annually.

Our cardiac catheterization lab performs diagnostic studies to diagnose valvular and structural heart problems as well as electrophysiology procedures.

Structural Heart procedures are performed in the cardiac catheterization lab with full cardiovascular operating room support. Procedures include transcatheter aortic valve replacement, the Watchman procedure, which reduces stroke risk for atrial fibrillation patients, and PFO (patent foramen ovale) closure, reducing the risk of stroke.

Electrophysiology Lab

This department is located within the cardiac catheterization lab. The department performs over 1,000 procedures annually. Four staff members consist of registered nurses (RN), registered invasive cardiac specialists (RCIS). Procedures include pacemaker and ICD implants and ablations for arrhythmias.
