Meet Our Team
Victor Luna, MD
Dr. Victor Luna completed his medical education at Escuela Autonoma de Ciencias Medicas de Centroamerica in San Jose, Costa Rica. He then participated in an internship at LSU Health Science Center where he later completed his residency in Internal Medicine where he served as the chief resident for his final year. Dr. Luna continued his education by completing a fellowship at University of South Florida.
Dr. Luna has done a vast amount of research on topics that include insulin resistance syndrome, insulin pump therapy and the utility of genetic testing in thyroid biopsies. He also has written publications and given presentations on subjects such as radioactive iodine, diet pills, and thrombolytic therapy.
Valeriu Neagu, MD
Dr. Valeriu Neagu is board certified in Endocrinology. He graduated from the University of Medicine in Timisoara, Romania. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Neagu served his residency at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He completed his fellowship at University of Illinois in Chicago where he specialized in Endocrinology.
Dr. Neagu is trained in the field of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolic medicine. He practices in a patient-centered manner knowing that every patient can have a different presentation of the same condition with expertise for treating conditions like severe diabetes, adrenal and pituitary disorders, low testosterone, menopausal disorder and osteoporosis. Dr. Neagu has a special interest in thyroid abnormalities and thyroid cancer. He brings his experience from practicing five years in Oklahoma City in a very diverse practice where he cared for patients with endocrine disorders. Publications of his work include research studies focused on Vitamin D deficiency and kidney transplant patients with diabetes.
Janis King, APRN
Janis King graduated cum laude from Florida State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked as a registered nurse in medical-surgical nursing and critical care. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Florida State University in 2013 and has since been working in Endocrinology following graduation. Janis is bilingual and fluent in the Spanish language as well.
Janis is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Janis lives in North Naples with her husband, Sam, and their Boston terrier, Leila. In her free time, Janis enjoys spending time with family, going to the beach and traveling.
Michelle Nowak, APRN
Michelle Nowak, APRN, Endocrinology, earned her Bachelor of Science from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing, Adult Nurse Practitioner, and her Post Master’s, Family Nurse Practioner, from Purdue University. Michelle is a professional member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Southern Gulf Coast Nurse Practitioner Council, Endocrine Society, and the Nurse Practitioner Council of Collier County.
In her spare time she enjoys time with her husband and three children. Together they enjoy going to the beach, shelling, gardening, and all outdoor activities.
