About Dr. Elmahdy

Dr. Elmahdy received his bachelor of medicine and surgery degree from the University of Cairo in Egypt. Following his undergraduate work, he went on to complete his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, becoming Chief Medical Resident as an extra year there. Dr. Elmahdy then went on to complete his cardiovascular fellowship at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital also in Miami.

A member of the American College of Cardiology and the Egyptian Medical Syndicate, Dr. Elmahdy has performed extensive research within the field of cardiology, including but not limited to: simulation-based learning methods for cardiovascular fellows; the effects of hot yoga on endothelial function; and the impact of sanitation and living conditions on primary medical health needs in rural areas. Dr. Elmahdy has been published more than a dozen times on a range of highly complex cardiovascular topics and procedures.

A native of Egypt, Dr. Elmahdy is fluent in Arabic and enjoys boating, fishing, soccer and spending time outdoors with his family. He brings a deep base of knowledge to his work with patients and strives to provide the very best in patient care, while remaining on the cutting edge of research in his field.
