Dr. Velamakanni received her education at Johns Hopkins University and Rutgers University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). Before coming to Naples, she completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Georgetown/Washington Hospital Center, where she was also a Chief Fellow.

Dr. Velamakanni is triple board certified in non-invasive cardiology, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology and has been with NCH for more than a decade. In addition to her role as a non-invasive cardiologist, she is the Medical Director of the NCH Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology Labs and is a member of the structural heart team. She has received several professional awards and honors.

Dr. Velamakanni brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to providing patients with unmatched cardiovascular care. She values education and prevention and believes informed patients are healthier. She is also a clinical instructor and mentor with the NCH internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship programs.
