About Dr. Travalia

Dr. Travalia received his medical degree from the University of Padua Medical School in Italy. He then went on to complete internships both in Verona, Italy and at the Genesee Hospital in Rochester, New York. Dr. Travalia completed his first year of residency at the Nassau County Medical Center in Long Island, New York followed by his second year at the Genesee Hospital in Rochester, New York. His cardiology fellowship was completed at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Travalia is certified in interventional cardiology and presently serves as a cardiologist internist at the Rooney Heart Institute at NCH , where he has served for over a decade. He has been honored for his achievements in both Italy and the United States, and has been published on topics such as mechanical valve thrombosis as well as invasive cardiology. His medical interests include cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology.

A native of Italy, Dr. Travalia worked in private practice cardiology for over 30 years before beginning his work with the Rooney Heart Institute at NCH. He has also served as an Aviation Medical Examiner since 1980 and served as a Lieutenant Medical Doctor in the Italian Army. His extensive background in both private and public practice has made Dr. Travalia an invaluable member of the NCH team.
