About Dr. Navas

Viviana Navas, MD attended medical school in la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia and completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Florida. She completed her advanced heart failure and heart transplant fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

A first for NCH, Dr. Navas has joined our team to build a heart failure program focused on advancing early diagnosis and improving clinical outcomes. Her main interest is advancing the field of heart failure and education. Dr. Navas is the section head of heart failure and director of the ACGME Accredited Cardiology Fellowship Program at the Rooney Heart Institute at NCH. Dr. Navas served as regional director for heart failure, she started the heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support program at the Cleveland Clinic Florida in 2014, and was the medical director until 2021. She also served as the program director for the cardiology fellowship program from 2015-2021.

Dr. Navas’ main interests are advancing the field of heart failure and education. She is also very involved with the residency and fellowship programs, and every year she participates as a speaker in multiple national and international meetings.
