Dr. Contreras received his medical degree from University of Southern California and his Master of Public Health from Harvard University. Upon completing medical school, he moved to Seattle where he completed his Family Medicine residency at Group Health Cooperative. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Geriatrics, and is a Certified Medical Director for long-term care facilities through the Medical Directors Association. He served for many years, as Medical Director for several long-term care facilities in Washington State.
Dr. Contreras enjoys caring for patients from newborns to older adults. He has special interest in Sports Medicine, having served as Team Physician for a Junior Hockey League Team in Everett, Washington for over ten years. In addition, he created and chaired an annual sports medicine conference in the Pacific Northwest for 20 years.
Dr. Contreras is an avid long-distance runner and has completed over 100 marathons, including ten Boston Marathons. He also enjoys playing his guitar and, occasionally, trying to make a gourmet meal. He and his wife like to travel and spend time with their children and grandchildren.
