Stacy Jankowski didn’t expect all the help she’s getting at St. Matthew’s House.
A bed to sleep in at night. That’s big.
Having the pain in her stomach go away and medication for her high blood pressure. That gives her hope.
“I couldn’t ask for better treatment at all,” Jankowski, 49, a resident of Collier County for 27 years, said of the homeless shelter in East Naples.
Officials at St. Matthew’s House, Neighborhood Health Clinic and the NCH Healthcare System — all nonprofit organizations — have forged an alliance to provide early intervention to shelter residents for their medical conditions to reduce unnecessary and costly emergency room visits and hospitalizations.
