Welcome

Our talented and enthusiastic faculty and residents, at NCH Healthcare System, would love the opportunity to guide you in your journey toward becoming an excellent internal medicine physician.

“Dear future applicant,

Thank you for visiting our site. I am fortunate to have joined the team here in January 2022, succeeding the founding program director Dr. Charles Graeber. I have been involved in academic medicine for over 20 years and previously served as program director at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from 2008 – 2021.

Mark S. Rasnake, MD, FIDSA
Program Director, Internal Medicine

I am excited about the future here at NCH Healthcare System, where residents have been trained since this program was founded in 2017. We are in the midst of growing the program from 12 residents per year to 16. With our 2023 Match we will be at our full complement of 48 residents.

We continue to have strong academic affiliations with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, as well as the University of Central Florida. We have also recently opened a state-of-the art Simulation Center with a dedicated simulation curriculum for our residents and offer POCUS training, a dedicated board review course, and are in the process of developing a Global Health elective. Our academic opportunities will soon grow further as we welcome our inaugural classes of Cardiology and Pulmonary / Critical Care fellows in July 2022. You will find all these opportunities and more on our campus, which is only a few blocks away from the pristine beaches of Naples, Florida.

Again, thank you for your interest in our program, and I look forward to meeting many of you as part of our interview process this coming fall.”
