The NCH NICU recently hosted a heartwarming reunion for former patients and their families. The event allowed families to reconnect with the doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for their fragile newborns during their time in the NICU. Dr. Bridget Buzzella, NICU medical director, described the emotional journey from fear and stress to confidence and comfort as parents learned to care for their babies. Nurses play a key role in this process, forming deep bonds with families during the babies’ stays, which can last from days to months. Families like the Frooshanis and the Tanises expressed gratitude for the care and guidance they received, saying the reunion was a powerful reminder of how far their children had come.
