NCH Healthcare System Ranked Four-Stars for Quality by CMS

NAPLES, Fla. – July 28, 2022 NCH Healthcare System hospitals on the Baker and North Naples campuses were ranked by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) with a four star rating out of a possible five star ranking this year in findings made public just this week. NCH Healthcare System has been rated as four-stars since 2019. The four star rating makes the hospital the highest quality ranked healthcare system in Collier County and once again highlights the exceptional level of quality care offered by NCH to the community.

The CMS overall hospital rating summarizes a variety of measures reflecting common conditions that hospitals treat, such as heart attacks or pneumonia and illustrates how well a hospital performed compared to others around the nation. For people with Medicare or their caregivers who want to choose a Medicare provider (like physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and others), the CMS rating system provides a single source search and compare experience that lets the user find information about providers and facilities based on individual needs, get resources to help choose health care providers, and overall, make a more informed decision about where you get your healthcare. The star rating system also provides an easy-to-understand way for consumers to compare hospitals in order to find the best one for you.

The four star rating received by the NCH Healthcare System means that patients had better quality outcomes than the national average for the treatment of conditions like heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and hip and knee replacement, in addition to lower than national average rates for readmission after discharge.

“CMS rates more than 4,000 hospitals across the nation for quality, and we are happy to be recognized, yet again, as the top choice for consumers in Collier County,” said Paul Hiltz, President and CEO, NCH Healthcare System.

“NCH continually strides to improve upon the quality care we already offer to those we serve,” said Dr. Carlos Quintero, Chief Quality Officer at NCH Healthcare System. “We fully support being transparent and sharing this data with our community so they can see and decide for themselves where to receive the best care possible.”
