NAPLES, Fla. – Sept. 22, 2021 As the number of COVID hospitalizations continue to decrease at NCH, we will once again be allowing limited visitation by the family members and loved ones of our patients at any of the restricted times shown below for the following areas:
- General units: 12:00—6:00 p.m., one (1) visitor per patient at a time
- COVID units: virtual visitation only, except for compassionate care
- Critical care: 12:00—1:00 p.m. and 5:00—6:00 p.m., one (1) visitor per patient at a time
- Emergency department: virtual visitation only, except for parents of minors
- Brookdale rehabilitation: 12:00—6:00 p.m.
- Behavioral health unit (4SE): 5:00—6:00 p.m.
- Birthplace and NICU: all hours: one (1) visitor at a time, 18-years or older
- Pediatrics: all hours: one (1) visitor at a time, 18-years or older
Visitors are required to wear a hospital supplied face mask for the entire time on campus and during patient visitation. Visitors are encouraged to limit their visit to the patient’s room and refrain from stopping in other departments.
Common gathering rooms, such as family waiting rooms, remain closed. The cafeteria is available to visitors in need of a meal or snack where dining restrictions will apply.

COVID STATS as of Wednesday, September 22
- The COVID positivity rate for the last 7 days for Collier County is 12.3%.
- The COVID positivity rate for the last 7 days at NCH is 10.62%.
- NCH is currently caring for a total of 502 patients between our two hospitals.
- Of that number, we are caring for 114 patients have tested positive for COVID.
- Of that number, 82 patients or approximately 72% are unvaccinated.
- Of that number, 37 patients are in critical care with COVID.
- We are at 134% critical care capacity with 63 of 47 beds filled.
- Of that number, 24 patients are on vents.
- Patient ages range from 14-97 with a median age of 64.
- There are 7 pediatric patients admitted with COVID.
- NCH has 7 employees who tested positive for COVID and/or isolated due to family or community related exposure.
- To date at NCH, we have had 328 admitted patient deaths due to COVID since the onset of the pandemic.
- This does not account for COVID deaths for patients who may have been discharged home with Hospice who subsequently passed after leaving the hospital.
