Marco Island, FL., March 22, 2024 – Marco Urgent Care is proud to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for its state-of-the-art urgent care center. The ceremony took place on the morning of March 22, and marks the beginning of construction for this vital healthcare facility.
The Marco Urgent Care center aims to provide accessible and efficient healthcare services to the residents of Marco Island and surrounding communities. With a focus on delivering high-quality care in a convenient setting, the center will offer a wide range of urgent medical services, including diagnostics, treatments, and preventive care.
The project will be divided into three phases. The first phase will begin construction of the new state-of-the-art facility, while the second phase of the project will see the existing urgent care services move to the new facility and the old building demolished. The final phase will be marked by the renovation of the two-story physician and outpatient rehabilitation building. The existing Urgent Care Center will remain open during the entire construction period.
This modern facility will be equipped to handle a variety of urgent medical needs, ensuring that patients receive prompt and effective care when they need it most. The building will be comprised of two floors with 24,000 sq. feet total. The first floor will be home to the New Marco Urgent Care Center and will feature 12 private exam rooms, one private triage/patient intake room, all new equipment -including CT and X-ray, and a covered ambulance entrance. The second floor will house future physicians’ services.
At a projected cost of $18M, two Marco Island families have come forward pledging their support for the project. The Slaggies pledged a match grant of $5M while the Kaufmanns donated $4M.
“This is an exciting moment for our community as we take a significant step forward in enhancing access to healthcare services,” said Dianna Dohm, Marco Urgent Care Board Chair. “The new and improved Marco Urgent Care center will continue to play a crucial role in meeting the healthcare needs of our residents, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have.”
“We are thrilled to bring this essential healthcare facility to fruition for the residents of Marco Island and beyond,” said Paul Hiltz, CEO of NCH. “This new facility will ensure that patients receive high-quality care right here in our own community.”
The new Marco Urgent Care Center will sit on the southeast corner of the existing Urgent Care Center’s campus at 40 S.
