Naples Comprehensive Health is launching a $350 million project to build a four‑story, 156,000‑square‑foot women’s and children’s pavilion on the NCH North Hospital campus in partnership with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. The project includes creating a level III neonatal intensive care unit to support very premature and critically ill newborns, addressing the growing need for advanced local pediatric care. A major gift from the Bill and Julia Van Domelen Foundation is jump‑starting the fundraising campaign, alongside the launch of the Van Domelen Institute for Women and Children. The collaboration will expand pediatric subspecialties such as cardiology, neurology, endocrinology and general surgery, keeping more families from needing to leave Collier County for care. Construction is expected to begin 18–24 months after fundraising milestones are met, with leaders saying the initiative will greatly enhance women’s, maternal and pediatric services close to home.
