NCH expanding cancer services in Southwest Florida

NCH is expanding cancer services in Southwest Florida through a partnership with Northwestern Medicine to provide world-class treatment close to home. Currently, around 40% of Collier County cancer patients seek care outside the region, a trend NCH CEO Paul Hiltz aims to reverse. “This collaboration and the generous support we’ve received will allow more people to stay right here and receive great care,” Hiltz said.

Dr. Edward Grendys, director of Gynecologic Oncology, emphasized that advanced, local care is essential for improving outcomes. As part of the expansion, NCH will recruit specialized oncology staff to create a dedicated environment focused on comprehensive cancer care outside of a standard hospital setting.

This partnership, a year in the making, centers on both organizations’ commitment to patient-first care. “When like-minded organizations put patients at the heart of the conversation, impactful solutions follow,” said Dr. Howard Chrisman, CEO of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. Initial efforts will focus on women’s cancer services, with further oncology expansions planned for the future. Read More >
