Naples Comprehensive Health is constructing the $295 million R.M. Schulze Family Heart and Stroke Critical Care Center at its Baker Hospital campus. The five-story, 189,000-square-foot facility is expected to take approximately two years to complete, along with a new four-story parking garage featuring 375 spaces and an open-air top deck.

Construction is well underway with a Fundex F3500 fixed mast drill rig on site to install roughly 800 foundation piles, each 14 inches in diameter and 60 feet deep, filled with concrete to support the building and garage. A 150-ton track crawler crane is being used to move materials, debris, and formwork, and additional cranes will be brought in as needed during the project.

The cardiac and stroke center has been in planning for four years and received final approval from the Naples City Council in 2024. The 13.72-acre site was rezoned to “public services,” allowing the facility to reach 87 feet in height—well above the city’s 42-foot limit for commercial buildings.

During construction, part of the hospital’s surface parking lot is fenced off, but valet service remains available for all visitors. The project reflects NCH’s continued investment in advanced cardiovascular and stroke care for the Southwest Florida community.
