State Senate President Kathleen Passidomo and her staff donated blood at the Community Blood Center in Naples to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations. This effort follows a recent cyber attack on the OneBlood network, causing a statewide blood shortage. Passidomo emphasized the urgency, stating, “The fact that there is a lack of blood for some surgeries around the state. I thought … let’s not give into these guys.”
NCH CEO Paul Hiltz also urged the community to donate, emphasizing the local need for blood, especially types O and A. The Community Blood Center welcomes walk-ins on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. For more information, visit NCH Blood Center.
