The ninth annual Sydney’s Santa Ride at NCH brought Christmas joy to children in the hospital, honoring the memory of Sydney, who passed away from leukemia at age seven. Inspired by Sydney’s experience and the generosity of hospital staff who provided toys for young patients, Corporal JJ Snyder and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office began this tradition to make the holidays special for families facing medical hardships.
Each year, a festive motorcade featuring Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Frosty delivers gifts to the children, offering relief to parents burdened by medical expenses and preserving Sydney’s legacy of kindness.
