Our Mission
NCH Marco Urgent Care has been serving the Marco Island community for nearly 40 years. When injuries, bruises and illnesses affect you or your family, the dedicated staff and physicians at Marco Urgent Care are here for you.
Collectively, we are confronting challenges and proactively deploying resources necessary to respond to the ever-changing healthcare needs on Marco Island. As we transform NCH into an Advanced Community Healthcare SystemTM, we are raising philanthropic support and are redefining what it means to be a community-based health system, and this initiative is centered on advancing patient care.
Crews broke ground on the new urgent-care center on Heathwood Drive in late March 2024, and the first floor of the new urgent-care center will feature 12 private exam rooms, a triage room, a lab, updated X-ray and CT-scan equipment, and more. The second floor will be built out with additional outpatient services and medical offices based on local demand.
Two Marco Island families played a huge role in accelerating this $18 million project. The campus will be named after Stephen and Barbara Slaggie, who set up a $5 million grant-match campaign to garner additional support for the project. The building will be called the Pat and Scot Kaufman Healthcare Center after the local Kaufman family donated $4 million. The remaining funds will need to be raised through philanthropy to ensure the project opens on time in 2025.
The goal overall is to ensure people in and around Marco Island can get a variety of high-quality medical services in one convenient location, including diagnostics, treatments and preventive care.
