Led by Dr. Robert Cubeddu, the Brynne and Bob Coletti Endowed Chair and President of the NCH Rooney Heart Institute, the institute is poised to become a premier provider of cardiac care in the region. Recently recognized by Money Magazine as one of the nation’s Top 50 hospitals for heart care, the Rooney Heart Institute is setting new benchmarks for excellence. This dedication is further exemplified by the opening of the $265 million R.M. Schulze Family Heart and Stroke Critical Care Center at the NCH Baker Downtown campus. This cutting-edge facility integrates seamlessly with existing cardiovascular programs, ensuring comprehensive and innovative care.
The Rooney Heart Institute Fund also supports expanding critical care services, including the addition of four state-of-the-art operating rooms and over 20 cardiac intensive care units. By combining clinical excellence with groundbreaking research, education, and innovation, the institute mirrors the nation’s best heart programs while staying deeply rooted in community-focused healthcare.

The Rooney Heart Institute will operate out of the new $265 million R.M. Schulze Family Heart and Stroke Critical Care Center at the NCH Baker Downtown campus. This strategic addition will integrate seamlessly with our existing state-of-the-art cardiovascular facilities.
