NAPLES, Fla. – March 25, 2022 NCH is happy to announce the addition of 16 candidates to join our Internal Residency program as the class of 2025. Additionally, NCH also welcomes in July its inaugural class of six candidates chosen as Transitional Year residents for the class of 2023. The Transitional Year program is a one-year program which offers a broad-based clinical experience for learners pursuing training in advanced residencies. Candidates were announced on Match day, Friday, March 18 and represent a diverse group of physicians from schools as close as our very own state to as far away as Egypt.
Our program was developed in concert with our academic partner, the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Both, the Mayo Clinic and the University of Central Florida support our efforts toward individual mentoring and guidance of young medical graduates as they progress to expert doctors.

Additionally, NCH will also be welcoming three new Cardiology fellows (Juan Sierra, M.D., Wael Dakkak, M.D. and Dhiran Verghese, M.D.), two Pulmonary Critical Care fellows (Vanessa Hoytfox,M.D. and Aditi Lele, D.O.), and one Hospice and Palliative Care fellow (Sanjivani Sathe, M.D.). These programs start July 1, 2022.

Upon completion of their training, all residents will have had exposure and education in all aspects of ambulatory and inpatient medicine. They will be ready to answer our country’s need for quality physicians and are welcome to practice in Southwest Florida.
