NAPLES, Fla. – Oct 25, 2022 NCH is one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care for the eighth year in a row, as well as being recognized in six other specialties, according to new research released by Healthgrades. Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Awards recognize the top 10% of hospitals across the country in 17 specialty care areas. This achievement reflects the NCH Healthcare System’s outstanding clinical outcomes for the seven service lines recognized and distinguishes NCH Healthcare System as one of the nation’s leading hospitals.
Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals for specialty care. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between hospitals with a 2023 Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Award and hospitals that did not receive the award.
For the 2023 Report to the Nation, Healthgrades compared America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care Award recipients as a group, to all other hospitals, as a group, and found that from 2019-2021, patients treated at hospitals receiving the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care Award have a 29% lower risk of mortality than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.*
