NAPLES, Fla. – March 2, 2022 On Tuesday, March 1, the NCH Healthcare System welcomed our friends, neighbors and community members for an open forum regarding the proposed new NCH Heart Institute campus. Residents were able to ask questions, as well as hear from NCH leadership on modified plans as a result of their concerns. Working together with the community, NCH is committed to creating a center of excellence for the advanced care of heart, stroke and vascular ailments.
The event was the largest of several NCH leadership has held inviting community members to hear building plans and to be a part of the conversation of what future healthcare services in our community will look like at the downtown Baker Hospital campus.
The new NCH Heart, Vascular and Stroke Institute was announced to the public at the beginning of 2022. Since then, NCH leadership has been listening to our community and has modified the proposed building height based on concerns and questions from the community. As a result of our listening tour, NCH has adapted our proposal for the institute from a six-story building to a five-story building in response to those concerns.
NCH leaders who spoke at the community event presented a list of top-notch cardiac procedures that are already being done in Naples and few other places in the state, that will be further enhanced with the new institute.
“These procedures are being done right here, right now, in Naples, Florida – not Boston, not New York,” said Robert Cubeddu, MD, President of the NCH Heart Institute. “I am proud to be a part of an organization such as NCH who has demonstrated their commitment to bringing higher level cardiac care typically found only in a handful of places in the nation to our very own community.”
“Naples is already known worldwide for its quality of life,” said Paul Hiltz, President and CEO of the NCH Healthcare System. “We also want it to be known for its exceptional quality healthcare.”
The new state-of-the-art Heart, Vascular and Stroke Institute will give the community the convenience and peace of mind of having the highest-caliber care available anywhere – just minutes from home. And when it comes to heart, stroke and vascular emergencies, minutes matter.
NCH knows that privacy matters also. With that in mind, our new institute will be a private-rooms only facility with easy access for family and friends. And by moving the last remaining semi-private rooms from the existing hospital to the new facility, it also means that all rooms at any NCH Hospital will be private for the improved comfort of patients and their visitors.
At NCH, we are dedicated to providing health care and wellness services that are second-to-none. And that means not only utilizing the latest diagnostic and treatment equipment in the world, but also employing the nation’s top specialists to ensure that none of us have to leave Naples for high-quality health care.
