Preparing For Your Surgery
Prior to your surgery, you will be contacted to complete our assessment process. You may complete an in-person PAT appointment.Â
- Your medical history will be reviewed and any tests needed will be performed.Â
- Your medication history will be reviewed, and the nurse will let you know which medications to continue taking.Â
- Any special instructions from your physician will also be reviewed.Â
Important: Notify your physician if there is any change in your health such as a cold, fever, sore throat, or skin rash prior to surgery.
For women, if there is any possibility that you are pregnant, please notify your physician or facility.
The center will call to discuss your insurance and financial expectations at least 3 days prior to your procedure. If you would like to discuss this sooner, please call the business office at 239-456-0521
Day of Surgery
- Bring your picture ID, insurance cards, any paperwork from your physician office, a list of your medication and a form of payment if your insurance company requires a co-payment.
- You will need an adult to drive you home and stay with you after surgery. You will not be allowed to drive yourself. The center will ask for the name and contact number of your designated driver.
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes. Upon arrival you will change into a gown provided by the facility.
- You will be asked to remove contact lenses, piercings, dentures and any prosthesis. Please bring your glasses and hearing aids.
- Leave all valuables at home.
- Please arrive promptly at the scheduled time to allow adequate time for admission procedures.
Recovery Area
- After surgery you will be moved to the recovery area where you will be closely monitored until you are ready to go home.
- When you are ready for discharge, your family will be notified and given your discharge instructions. Although times may vary, most patients are discharged one hour after surgery. Due to limited space and patient privacy, we ask that family members stay in the waiting area unless otherwise noted. Exceptions to this guideline will be made for young children and at the discretion of the facility.
- It is normal to feel discomfort in the area of your surgical site. Depending on the type of anesthesia you receive during surgery, you may experience drowsiness, dizziness or nausea.
At Home After Your Surgery
- We care about your recovery after surgery. A nurse will call you to check on your progress the following business day.
- Your physician will provide specific instructions for care while recovering at home; in the event of any difficulty, please contact your physician.
- For the first 24 hours following surgery, do not engage in strenuous activities, drink any alcoholic beverages, drive or make any critical decisions.
Billing Information
