Specialized Travel Health at NCH
The NCH Travel Clinic is staffed by board-certified infectious disease physicians with deep expertise in travel medicine. Every consultation is tailored to your specific destination, itinerary, and personal health history — not a generic checklist.
We administer required and recommended vaccines on-site, prescribe preventive medications such as malaria prophylaxis and altitude sickness treatment, and issue official International Certificate of Vaccination (Yellow Card) documentation required for entry into many countries.
We recommend scheduling at least 4–6 weeks before departure — and ideally 2–3 months in advance for complex itineraries. Many vaccines require multiple doses, and some medications must be started before you enter a risk area.
- Insurance Policy
The NCH Travel Clinic does not bill insurance for this service. Payment is due at the time of your appointment. A “Do Not Bill Insurance” authorization form is available in MyChart and will be prompted during your online check-in process.
What We Provide
Destination-specific consultation — your physician reviews CDC and WHO guidelines for your exact itinerary, whether you’re traveling to rural Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, or a cruise port in South America.
Vaccines administered on-site — required and recommended immunizations given at your visit, with return appointments for multi-dose series.
Preventive prescriptions — malaria prophylaxis, altitude sickness medications, and standby antibiotics for traveler’s diarrhea, all matched to your destination.
Official Yellow Card (ICVP) — we are an authorized yellow fever vaccination center and can issue the International Certificate of Vaccination required for border entry.
