Specialized Sleep Care at NCH

The NCH Sleep Center provides comprehensive evaluation and care for patients experiencing a wide range of sleep disorders. Each study is performed by a registered polysomnographic technologist and interpreted by a board-certified sleep physician, ensuring accurate and reliable results. With a patient-focused approach that combines advanced testing and individualized care, the center supports both diagnosis and ongoing management tailored to each personโ€™s health history and lifestyle.

Common Sleep Disorders

Our team diagnoses and manages a wide range of sleep conditions. If you’re experiencing any of the following, a sleep study may help identify the cause and a path to treatment.

Insomnia

Difficulty falling or staying asleep as long as desired . Also known as โ€œsleeplessness.โ€

Restless leg syndrome

Strong urge to move legs that typically happens in the evening or at night.

Obstructive / Central sleep apnea

Periods of shallow breathing or pauses in breathing during sleep. There may be snoring, choking, or snorting sounds as breathing resumes.

Narcolepsy

A long-term neurological disorder. Symptoms can include excessive daytime sleepiness, sudden loss of muscle strength, inability to move while sleeping, or vivid hallucinations.

REM behavior disorders

Physically acting out dreams often involving shouting, laughing, crying, punching, kicking, choking, arm flailing, and even jumping out of bed.

The Sleep Center will contact your insurance company directly to request authorization. We recommend scheduling as early as possible โ€” authorization can take up to 30 business days.
Contact your insurance provider prior to your visit to understand your coverage, co-payment, deductible, and out-of-pocket costs. If you use a durable medical equipment (DME) company, please have their name and phone number available at check-in.

Preparing for Your Visit

What to Know Before Your Study

You will receive a confirmation call 2โ€“3 days before your appointment. Arrive at your designated time โ€” no more than 15 minutes early.

What to Bring

Cancellation Policy

No shows or appointment cancellations within 24 hours of your scheduled time may incur a cancellation fee of $500.

What to expect

From check-in to check-out

During Your Stay

You’ll be placed in a private bedroom with shared bathroom(s). Free wi-fi and bottled water are provided โ€” no televisions.

Medications

Medications are not provided. If you must take any medication, please notify the sleep technologist for review.

Check-out

You’ll complete forms when you arrive and again before you leave. All patients are expected to check out no later than 6 a.m.
