Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship

The Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship at Naples Community Hospital is a new ACGME-accredited fellowship program. We will train two physicians in a growing academic community hospital with a complete palliative care dedicated interdisciplinary team.

The fellowship offers education in all aspects of palliative care including clinical, didactic and research components and teaches both primary and specialty palliative care approaches. Working within the interprofessional team develops a team-based approach to patient care and support while providing hands on education to fellows on various team member roles.

The goal of our fellowship is the development of outstanding physician leaders in the field of hospice and palliative care. Our fellows will excel in all areas of palliative care including in-depth goals of care conversations, advanced pain and symptom management, spiritual and emotional support for both the patient and their families.

The primary training site is Naples Community Hospital, located in Naples, Florida, where the fellows will be active members of the inpatient and outpatient palliative care teams. Secondary sites include two different hospice organizations that serve patients in the home, hospital, inpatient hospice or in long-term care facilities.

The fellows will be exposed to a diverse population with many complex, advanced and life-limiting serious illnesses.
