Safe and Healthy Children’s Coalition
NCH serves as the lead sponsor of the Safe and Healthy Children’s Coalition of Collier County, a partnership of more than 70 public, private and non-profit entities dedicated to improving children’s well-being.
The Coalition was founded in 2010 with the recognition that addressing accidental injuries and other health and safety issues require a coordinated approach.
Partners identify concerns and barriers to well-being, then develop and implement solutions as a team. Key areas of focus include programs to combat childhood obesity, prevent childhood drowning and reduce Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Many of the programs implemented by the coalition have translated into statewide initiatives and best practices.
