NAPLES, Fla. – July 29, 2021 – The NCH Healthcare System and the City of Naples once again stand united in reminding our community to stay safe as Collier County experiences a dramatic rise in COVID hospitalizations and NCH enacts its COVID surge protocols.
The new educational initiative will deliver the message to strongly encourage individuals to get vaccinated and for those who are unvaccinated to follow safety measures of wearing masks, washing hands and physical distancing.
“The rise in COVID hospitalizations locally is concerning,” said Paul Hiltz, President and CEO of the NCH Healthcare System. “We are happy to be partnering with the City of Naples and Mayor Teresa Heitmann once again to strongly encourage our neighbors to get vaccinated, and if they choose not to, we urge them to wear a mask and be diligent to protect themselves and others against the virus.”
As with the past “All Heroes Wear Masks” initiative, masks will also be provided by the City and NCH to local businesses, organizations, and individuals. Additionally, public service announcements will be aired and posted emphasizing the importance of the vaccine, masking, physical distancing, and thorough hand washing.
“Our community should remain cautious and continue to exercise those safety practices that got our city through the height of this pandemic last year,” said Teresa Heitmann, Mayor of the City of Naples. “Getting the vaccine and continuing these safety measures will help assure that our city remains welcoming and safe for our residents as well as our visitors.”
